Series "EDGE"
Sculpture, installation, and Video
2013 - 2024
The series “Edge” explores the paradoxes of our contemporary world, precariously balanced between abundance and extinction, knowledge and ignorance. It also addresses the harmony of diversity in the face of fear of "the other". At the heart of this tension, my creations explore the paradoxes of our so-called modern society, where individual struggles for conformity rub shoulders with collective environmental issues and the disappearance of species.
Through an apparent lightness and a perspective that seeks to remain optimistic, this series highlights moments of human solidarity while questioning our choices and values in the face of a chaotic world. This reflection on our shared future leads to forms of hybridization and invites the viewer to consider new possibilities, both personal and collective, beyond pre-established patterns and loyalties.
Series "QUIPUS"
Sculpture and Installation
2021 - 2024
The Olmecs and Mayans, highly advanced indigenous civilizations, are credited with numerous inventions in the fields of science and mathematics. They profoundly influenced the thinking of many peoples before disappearing, leaving behind indecipherable codes in the form of knotted strings called quipus. These quipus served as a complex language for both accounting and communication within the empire. By exploring this framework for understanding the world and comparing it to our modern algorithms, I seek to reveal the oscillation between rigid organization and creative chaos that underlies our world, to highlight the chaos inherent in creative power. How can we believe in a perfect and immutable world when the best of all worlds, with its apparent perfection, can be seen as a potential source of inhuman tyranny?
Series "MONSTRESSES"
Sculpture, Installation, and Performance
2013 - 2024
From mythical proportions to microscopic humility, monsters navigate between paradoxes and ambiguities.
In ancient Greek culture, most monsters were female, embodying fears and powers, particularly those of a wild nature that deviated from societal norms, leading humanity toward its demise.
A symbol of hybridity, an inexhaustible source of imagination and material, the monster, when it manages to escape domestication or control, confronts the terror it provokes in its observers. It underestimates itself, sometimes obliterating its own splendor and the richness of its enigma that transcends monstrosity.
Whether it be a sphinx, a dragon, a unicorn, or a witch, the monster possesses a power that seems untamed.
